April 24–26, 2026 | Lake Harmony, PA
Train. Explore. Transform.
Join a small, committed group of actors for an intensive weekend immersion into the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique — deep, embodied, imaginative work designed to radically expand your emotional freedom, physical expressiveness, and creative range.
This is not a lecture.
This is experiential, physical, playful, and profoundly practical acting training.
What We Will Explore
Throughout the weekend, we will work deeply with the core principles and performance applications of the Michael Chekhov Technique, including:
Chekhov Techniques
Centers: Thinker, Feeler, Doer
Psychological Gestures: Push, Pull, Crush, Embrace, Tickle, Release, and more
Rhythm & Tempo: Staccato, Legato, Lyrical, Chaotic
Voice: Volume, Pitch, Tone
Areas of Focus: To Me, To You, To the Universe
Expansion & Contraction
Eyes: Candles, Daggers
Heart Qualities: Rising, Falling, Coal, Dust, Empty
Ease, Form, Beauty
Struggle, Disorder, Grotesque
Molding, Floating, Falling, Balance, Imbalance
Ideal Image of the Character
Costumes & Props — Traditional, Non‑Traditional, Transformational
Atmospheres: The energetic reality of a space (no two atmospheres can exist at once)
Radiation
Directional Imagery (Performance Application Tool)
Cycles (Performance Application Tool)
All techniques will be explored:
Individually
In pairs
In group work
Through structured exercises
Applied directly to monologues, improvised scenes, and scripted scenes
Preparation Requirements
To get the most out of the weekend, all actors must arrive prepared with:
1–2 monologues, fully memorized
Short scenes (provided in advance) fully memorized
This ensures we can spend the weekend doing the work, not learning lines.
